Job summary

Platinum International Motel is seeking a casual Guest Service Agent to support front desk operations at a busy 52-room property in Harristown. The role covers check-in/out, reservations, payments, and coordinating with housekeeping, with shifts across weekdays, weekends, and various times.

The ideal candidate has hospitality or customer service experience, strong computer skills (Outlook/Excel), and is available for mornings, afternoons or evenings.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotels, hospitality or customer service is essential.
• Proficient computer skills including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• RMS Cloud or similar reservation system experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Check guests in and out and process payments.
• Prepare arrivals and room keys for guests.
• Manage room allocations and the booking chart in RMS.
• Handle reservations by phone, email, walk-in and online travel agents.
• Manage the front office inbox and follow up on emails.
• Take room service orders for kitchen and bar.
• Assist with corporate accounts and function enquiries.
• Coordinate with housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready on time.
• Look for opportunities to convert enquiries into bookings.

Guest Service Agent – Casual (14–25 hours per week)

Platinum International Motel is a 4.5 star, 52 room motel at 326 James Street, Harristown, opposite a major shopping centre. As well as the rooms, the property offers room service dining, function and conference rooms, a pool, a gym and barbecue areas. Most of our guests are corporate travellers and event visitors. The motel is owned and operated by Deltine Capital.

We're looking for a Guest Service Agent to join our team on a casual basis, working about 14–25 hours a week. Shifts are on weekdays (PM) and weekends (AM and PM).

About the role

As a Guest Service Agent, you're the first person our guests deal with. We want someone who enjoys solving problems, gets on easily with people and takes pride in good service. You'll cover all parts of front office reception, from check-in/out to end of shift reconciliation.

Preparing arrivals and room keys

Checking guests in/out and processing payments

Managing room allocations and the booking chart in RMS

Handling reservations and enquiries by phone, email, walk-in and online travel agents

Managing the front office inbox and following up on emails

Taking room service orders for the kitchen and bar

Helping with corporate account and function enquiries

Working with the housekeeping team to ensure rooms are ready on time and guest requests accommodated

Looking for chances to turn enquiries into bookings and encourage guests to come back

The ideal candidate

Previous experience in hotels, hospitality, tourism or customer service essential

Confident on a computer, including Outlook, Word and Excel

RMS Cloud or similar reservation system experience is an advantage; full training provided

A clear, professional phone manner and good written English

Organised and accurate, especially with payments and bookings

High standards of personal presentation

Available for mornings, afternoons or evenings, including weekends and public holidays. We'll work around study or family commitments where we can.

A current Queensland RSA, or the ability to get one within your first week
