Job summary

The Victorian Government is seeking new graduate teachers for Melbourne schools. Range 1 classroom teachers operate under general direction and support classroom management, subject delivery and assessment while developing policy awareness and participating in induction programs.

You will plan and teach across one or more subjects, monitor progress, use data to inform instruction, collaborate with parents and colleagues, and contribute to co-curricular activities.

Qualifications

• Completed teaching degree and registration (or eligibility)
• Demonstrated ability to implement curriculum literacy/numeracy
• Ability to monitor and support student learning growth
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents and colleagues

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement teaching programs or courses
• Teach curriculum in one or more subjects across year levels
• Monitor, evaluate and report student progress
• Implement strategies to achieve learning targets
• Maintain attendance and track student progress
• Support student management in line with school policies
• Work with a mentor on professional development planning
• Contribute to policy development and co-curricular activities
