Job summary

Quick Release is expanding its Geelong team and seeks a Graduate/Junior Design Engineer for a fixed-term 9-month contract. The role focuses on developing SolidWorks CAD models, GD&T drawings, and supporting product development across automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing projects.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Automotive/Mechatronics, can analyze data and communicate effectively within cross-functional teams, and is eager to contribute to high-performance product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, mechatronics or related engineering field.
• Experience using SolidWorks for 3D CAD modelling and drawings.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Support Product Development activities with assigned engineering tasks.
• Develop and update SolidWorks CAD models and drawings, including GD&T.
• Support DFMEA and DVP development, test planning and test-data analysis.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, reports and updates.
• Work to defined project timelines under the direction of engineering leads.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to customer technical presentations.

Graduate/Junior Design Engineer (Fixed Term)

QR_ is currently expending its activity in Australia and we are looking for a Graduate/Junior Design Engineer join our Geelong team.

Responsibilities:

• Support Product Development activities with assigned engineering activities
• Develop and update SolidWorks CAD models and engineering drawings, including GD&T
• Support DFMEA and DVP development, test planning and test-data analysis
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, reports and technical updates
• Work to defined project timelines under the direction of engineering leads
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to customer technical presentations

Must have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering field (Mechanical, Automotive, mechatronics, etc.)
• Experience using SolidWorks for 3D CAD modelling and drawing updates
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional engineering team

Nice to have:

• Automotive, motorsport or high-performance product-development experience
• Formula SAE, Formula Student or similar university engineering project experience
• Experience with composites, lightweight structures or vehicle-component development
• Experience processing test data and preparing engineering reports
• Experience in new product development and prototyping

Location:

Geelong, VIC

Duration:

Initial 9 month fixed term contract with opertunity to extend or convert into a Permanant role.
