Betashares in Sydney invites graduates to a 24‑month programme designed to blend technology, operations and investment management.

You will rotate across Digital Technology & Transformation, Direct Operations, ETF Operations and Portfolio Management, gain hands‑on experience, and contribute to real projects from day one; you'll work with seasoned professionals to build technical and commercial skills and plan your future career.

Qualifications

• Currently completing or recently completed a degree in a STEM or related field.
• Demonstrated experience building a technical solution and coding in at least one general-purpose language.
• Foundational understanding of software engineering concepts, including version control, testing, databases and APIs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Curiosity about AI, automation and emerging technologies, with a willingness to use these tools thoughtfully to improve work processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to learn, receive feedback and develop knowledge across technology, financial markets and investment products.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience across technology, operations and investment teams, building an understanding of how Betashares' products, systems and processes work together.
• Contribute to software, data and digital projects that support business priorities and improve operational efficiency.
• Work with experienced engineers and technical specialists to understand problems, assess options and develop practical solutions.
• Design, build, test, debug and document code as part of project delivery, using appropriate engineering practices and tools.
• Analyse data, systems and processes to identify issues, improve performance and contribute to automation and more efficient ways of working.
• Apply version control, testing, documentation and code review practices to produce reliable and maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, product specialists, operations teams and other stakeholders to understand requirements and achieve shared outcomes.
• Communicate technical concepts, project progress and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Take ownership of assigned deliverables, seek feedback early and progressively work with greater independence.
• Document progress, key decisions and outcomes throughout each rotation.
• Present key learnings, project outcomes and recommendations at the conclusion of each rotation, reflecting on your development and identifying future areas of focus.
