Job summary

Betashares invites graduates to join its 2027 Graduate Programme in Sydney, designed to blend technology, operations and investment management. Over 24 months, you will rotate across diverse areas to gain hands-on experience working on real projects with meaningful impact.

You'll collaborate with seasoned professionals, develop technical, analytical and commercial skills, and be guided through regular feedback and professional development.

Qualifications

• Currently completing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology, Engineering, Science, Finance or related discipline, or possess equivalent technical experience.
• Demonstrated experience building a technical solution and writing code in at least one general-purpose programming language.
• Foundational understanding of software engineering concepts, including version control, testing, debugging, databases and APIs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and reliable work.
• Curiosity about AI, automation and emerging technologies, with a willingness to use these tools thoughtfully to improve work processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to learn, receive feedback and develop knowledge across technology, financial markets and investment products.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience across technology, operations and investment teams, building an understanding of how Betashares' products, systems and processes work together.
• Contribute to software, data and digital projects that support business priorities and improve operational efficiency.
• Work with experienced engineers and technical specialists to understand problems, assess options and develop practical solutions.
• Design, build, test, debug and document code as part of project delivery, using appropriate engineering practices and tools.
• Analyse data, systems and processes to identify issues, improve performance and contribute to automation and more efficient ways of working.
• Apply version control, testing, documentation and code review practices to produce reliable and maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, product specialists, operations teams and other stakeholders to understand requirements and achieve shared outcomes.
• Communicate technical concepts, project progress and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Take ownership of assigned deliverables, seek feedback early and progressively work with greater independence.
• Document progress, key decisions and outcomes throughout each rotation.
• Present key learnings, project outcomes and recommendations at the conclusion of each rotation, reflecting on your development and identifying future areas of focus.
