Job summary

EMtek is seeking a motivated Graduate Electrical Engineer for our Brisbane office. You will support electrical design, control systems, PLC programming, SCADA configuration, and commissioning across diverse projects in resources and heavy industry.

You will develop documentation, assist with estimates, and engage with senior engineers to deliver high-quality outputs while growing technical and professional skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or near completion) in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply engineering theory to practical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and ask for help when needed.
• Genuine interest in resources, mining, or heavy industrial sector.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering electrical engineering design and control system solutions across projects (electrical systems, control software, PLC programming, SCADA).
• Prepare electrical engineering specifications, technical documentation, user manuals, and other design deliverables under guidance of senior engineers.
• Support development and review of electrical documentation, control software, and project deliverables per standards and requirements.
• Configure and develop SCADA systems to meet functional, operational, and technical needs.
• Prepare test plans and conduct functional testing of electrical hardware and control software.
• Assist with engineering estimates, quotations, and technical inputs for proposals.
• Represent EMtek professionally during client interactions and site visits; ensure quality of outputs.
