Job summary

Applidyne is seeking a Graduate Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering innovative product designs across automotive, mining, medical, and defence sectors. The role involves concept generation, 3D CAD modelling, PCB design, embedded software, and prototype testing within a collaborative environment.

You will work under the Technical Manager to produce manufacturing drawings, contribute to IP, and liaise with manufacturers to move designs toward production.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering or similar discipline.
• Some technical design experience in a commercial R&D environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong IT skills and good mechanical aptitude if an Electronics Engineer.
• Good electronics aptitude if Mechanical Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Participate in concept generation sessions and help develop concepts to meet system specs.
• Generate design concepts and capture intellectual property.
• 3D CAD modelling of parts and assemblies using CAD/FEA tools; electronics using Altium and KiCad.
• Detailed design including manufacturing drawings or PCB design and embedded software development.
• Perform analysis and design activities to support the design process.
• Design and conduct research and testing to support development.
• Assemble, set to work and test prototypes.
• Liaise with manufacturers to prepare designs for production.
• Assist in preparing technical reports for design reviews and feasibility studies.
