Job summary

Rushworth P-12 College, part of the Victorian Government, is seeking graduates for teaching roles. New entrants receive structured support, mentoring and guidance from senior teachers and will plan, teach and assess across subjects to help achieve student outcomes.

These roles involve classroom management, curriculum delivery and participation in induction programs designed to integrate curriculum, assessment and pedagogy within the school. Applicants must be eligible for VIT registration.

Qualifications

• Must have completed course requirements and graduated in the last 4 years.
• Not be employed as a teacher by the department at the time the advertised position commences.
• Be currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a range of teaching programs or courses of study.
• Teach an area of the curriculum to a year level.
• Monitor, evaluate and report student progress in key learning areas.
• Implement strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes.
• Maintain records of class attendance and student progress.
• Implement effective student management and contribute to professional development.
• Work with a mentor to develop a professional portfolio and participate in induction programs.
• Assist in policy development and participate in school priorities.
