Expertech is partnering with a forward‑looking organisation in Sydney to appoint a Platforms & Infrastructure Technical Lead. You will guide a trio of Systems Engineers, staying hands‑on while steering technical direction, resolving complex challenges, and ensuring robust, scalable platforms across a distributed environment in Australia, the US and Europe.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in systems engineering with lead or senior roles.
• Experience mentoring a small technical team and workload planning.
• Strong Windows and Linux server administration (AD/DNS/DHCP/file services).
• Networking expertise: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls.
• Security-focused infrastructure design and operations.
• Storage protocols: SMB/CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel.
• Hands-on with Proxmox/VMware vSphere or Hyper-V.
• Security fundamentals and secure design principles.
• Calm problem solving and clear stakeholder communication.
• Hands-on approach with frontline leadership.
• Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Support for geographically distributed environments.
• Infra monitoring, performance optimization, capacity planning.
• Infrastructure standards, docs, and procedures.
• Procurement exposure and technical fit-outs.
• Uptime and reliability as core business drivers.
