Shield AI in Melbourne seeks a People Experience Operations Partner to own day-to-day people operations for employees across international locations, handling lifecycle processes, documentation, and compliance while balancing global standards with local requirements.

You will collaborate with Payroll, Legal, and external providers, drive process improvements and automation, and work across time zones with U.S.-based colleagues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in People Operations or HR operations across multiple countries.
• Experience onboarding, offboarding, employment documentation, leave administration, payroll inputs, and benefits.
• Knowledge of local employment requirements and when to involve Legal.
• Strong HR systems, data skills, and ability to turn data into insights.
• Ability to manage priorities across time zones and work independently.
• Strong communication and collaboration, handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Deliver locally relevant employee experience across international locations.
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding with PX partners, Talent Acquisition, IT, Payroll, and Legal for documentation, eligibility checks, equipment, systems access, payroll, and benefits.
• Prepare employment contracts, amendments, and letters using local templates with Legal review as needed.
• Maintain HRIS records and personnel files; reconcile information across systems.
• Coordinate payroll inputs, leave administration, and benefits with internal teams and external providers.
• Serve as day-to-day contact for employees, managers, providers, and EORs; resolve queries and escalate complex matters.
• Support new-country launches by coordinating operational workstreams for employment processes, systems, payroll, and benefits.
• Partner with Global Mobility for immigration/work authorization milestones, relocations, and transfers.
• Support managers through performance reviews and development programs by explaining processes and tracking deadlines.
• Maintain process guides and compliance calendars with specialist teams on reporting and audits.
• Use feedback and reporting to identify gaps and improve the employee experience.
• Implement process improvements, automation, and system enhancements within global standards.
