Job summary

Employment Hero in Australia seeks a senior payments compliance leader to serve as a Responsible Manager for its AFSL and to drive global AML/CTF standards. You will own licensing, risk, and regulatory reporting while collaborating with product, engineering, and commercial teams.

You will lead in-country compliance leads as the company expands into the UK, Canada, and New Zealand, and you will help shape the controls and governance for payments, payroll, and employer of record products.

Qualifications

• Significant operational payments experience in the last 5 years with day‑to‑day responsibility for payments and banking products.
• Degree in finance/commerce/law plus RG146 or equivalent compliance training.
• Working knowledge of AFSL obligations and ASIC licensing guides.
• Strong AML/CTF knowledge and application to payments.
• Proven ability to set strategy and execute independently.
• Collaborates with engineers and product managers to design controls.

Responsibilities

• Own licensing and Responsible Manager duties for Australia AFSL and related obligations.
• Lead payments compliance, AML/CTF, and risk management across products and markets.
• Define global AML/CTF standards and supervise local programs in multiple regions.
• Build and run risk registers, compliance calendars, and governance reporting.
• Staff and scale the function, identifying automation and resourcing needs.
