Job summary

Serco operates a Defence health centre in Darwin, providing primary medical, nursing, mental health, dental, physiotherapy and pharmaceutical services to Australian Defence Force personnel. The GP role delivers high-quality primary care with occupational medicine duties, and a collaborative team in a secure base setting.

Unrestricted AHPRA registration, FRACGP/FACRRM, and 2+ years GP experience are required, along with CPR HLTAID009 and citizenship.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner is required.
• FRACGP/FACRRM or Vocational Registration is required.
• Minimum 2 years GP experience in the last 5 years in primary care.
• Current CPR certification HLTAID009 is required.
• Australian citizenship and baseline security clearance are required.
• Commitment to CPD and patient-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality primary care to Defence members.
• Conduct fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.
• Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment.

The Health Centre is located at the Larrakeyah Barracks in Darwin City. Larrakeyah Defence Precinct is a unique tri-service Defence base directly supporting ADF operations & training. It is the home port of HMAS Coonawarra for Navy Patrol Boats and two Army Landing Craft. The facility has a routine dependency of 1,100 personnel which surges every 3 months to conduct pre and post deployment medicals. The health centre provides primary medical, nursing, mental health, dental, physiotherapy and pharmaceutical services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday to Friday.

What you'll do

• Deliver high-quality primary care to Defence members
• Occupational Medicine environment, conducting fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care, in addition to injury management, chronic disease management and preventative health
• Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment where patient wellness is paramount

What you bring

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner
• FRACGP, FACRRM or Vocational Registration
• Minimum 2 years' GP experience in the last 5 years in a primary care setting
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
• Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance)
• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
