Job summary

Serco is inviting applications for a General Practitioner to join the on-base Defence Health Centre at HMAS Cerberus, Western Port, Victoria. Deliver comprehensive primary care in an Occupational Medicine setting alongside a multidisciplinary team, including fitness-for-duty assessments and deployment care.

You will provide patient-centred care with a focus on preventive health, chronic disease management, and timely treatments within a predictable schedule.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration required for GP practice.
• CPR certification (HLTAID009) within last 12 months.
• Citizenship of Australia is required for security purposes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality primary care to Defence members in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Conduct fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care within an Occupational Medicine framework.
• Support patient wellness with collaborative, patient-centred care.

Located at HMAS Cerberus in Western Port, adjacent to Crib Point. The base supports approximately 4,000 personnel and is the Navy's primary training establishment for new recruits, training around 6,000 personnel annually with an average of 800 trainees onboard at any one time. The Health Centre provides a range of services including primary medical, outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmacy care. It includes a 30-bed low-dependency ward operating 24/7. The facility is also responsible for delivering after-hours healthcare services to ADF personnel across the Mornington Peninsula. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30–15:30 Monday to Friday. Weekday & weekend on-call shifts equally shared.

What you'll do

• Deliver high-quality primary care to Defence members
• Occupational Medicine environment, conducting fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care, in addition to injury management, chronic disease management and preventative health
• Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment where patient wellness is paramount

What you bring

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner
• FRACGP, FACRRM or Vocational Registration
• Minimum two years' GP experience in the last five years in a GP Setting (GPT counts)
• CPR certification (HLTAID009) within last 12 months
• Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance)
• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
