Job summary

Serco is seeking a General Practitioner to deliver high-quality primary care to Defence members at Lavarack Health Centre in Townsville. The role is part-time (Wednesdays and Fridays) within a multidisciplinary clinical team on a Defence base.

You will conduct fitness-for-duty assessments, advise health leadership, and participate in CPD; AHPRA registration is required and Australian citizenship is essential.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner.
• FRACGP, FACRRM or Vocational Registration.
• Minimum two years’ GP experience in the last five years.
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009).
• Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance).
• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care.

About Lavarack Health Centre

Lavarack Health Centre is located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia. It includes the Operational Deployment Force and facilities to undertake mission rehearsal exercises prior to deployment. The facility provides primary medical, underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care to approximately 8000 members. It also operates a 24/7 inpatient low dependency ward. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday - Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend shifts).

We are seeking someone to work part time, Wednesdays and Fridays.
