Job summary

Main Street Medical Centre in Murwillumbah, NSW, is seeking a caring Medical Receptionist to join our busy general practice. This part-time role covers 2/3 days per week with flexibility for leave coverage, in a friendly environment focused on quality healthcare and customer service.

You will manage appointments, triage enquiries and maintain patient records while supporting doctors and staff in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical reception or healthcare customer service is desirable but not essential, training provided.
• Knowledge of Best Practice, AutoMed and eftpos/Tyro is desirable but not essential.

• Coordinate appointments, patient check-in/check-out and daily reception flow.
• Process billings, payments, receipts and patient account information accurately.

Main Street Medical Centre is a large, family oriented General Practice in Murwillumbah – Northern NSW.

We’re looking for a caring and capable Medical Receptionist to join our team. You will work in a friendly, vibrant and busy environment providing quality healthcare and exceptional customer service to our patients.

This is a part time position offering 2/3 days per week , with flexibility to cover annual/personal leave as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and manage phone, email and in-person enquiries.
• Coordinate appointments, patient check-in/check-out and daily reception flow.
• Process billings, payments, receipts and patient account information accurately.
• Maintain patient records, correspondence, scanning and filing in line with privacy requirements.
• Work collaboratively with doctors, management and the wider team.

What we're looking for

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients in a friendly and professional manner
• Excellent communication skills both verbal & written
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively while ensuring accuracy.
• Capable of working both independently and as part of a team environment.
• Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a customer service role within a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential as training will be provided for the right person
• Knowledge in using Best Practice management software, AutoMed , eftpos/Tyro is desirable but not essential.
