Job summary

Solar Power Direct SA Pty Ltd is seeking a hands‑on General Manager to lead operations, scale the business, and strengthen accountability in South Australia. You’ll report to the CFO and guide sales, operations, technical support, and customer service with authority over people, processes and performance.

The role focuses on executing strategy, modernising systems, and standardising workflows while maintaining a strong customer experience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a business or multi‑department operation.
• Operational leadership with commercial judgement.
• Experience leading sales teams or working closely with a commission‑based sales function.
• A track record of using KPIs and data to improve performance.
• A hands‑on style and willingness to get into the detail.
• Strong process‑improvement capability.
• Confident with systems and data (CRM, job management, Excel).
• Highly organised, comfortable in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
• A sound approach to risk, quality and compliance.
• Trades, construction, electrical, energy or similar industry experience highly regarded.
• Based in Adelaide and on site at Croydon Park daily.

• Own delivery from sale through to installation, compliance and invoicing
• Manage our installation partner against agreed service standards and KPIs
• Run the weekly leadership meeting and scorecard, and drive follow-through
• Identify and remove bottlenecks across the job pipeline, using operational data to catch issues early
• Standardise, document and automate processes
• Drive high standards of compliance across sales, administration and installation
• Protect our customer experience and culture as we grow
• Lead an integrated team that includes remote colleagues in the Philippines

Solar Power Direct is entering its next phase of growth, and we’re looking for a hands‑on General Manager to lead our operations, strengthen accountability and help scale one of South Australia’s established solar and battery businesses. You’ll have real authority, a clear reporting line and the backing of owners who value leadership and good people.

The Opportunity

This is a hands‑on operational leadership role. You’ll report to our CFO and lead our sales, operations, technical support, administration and customer service teams, with genuine authority across people, processes, performance and customer outcomes. You’ll be on the floor with the team every day.

Strategy and finance are in place, so your focus is execution: making the operation run well, spotting issues early and fixing the processes behind them. We’ll be upfront that we’re growing faster than some of our systems. We’re modernising HubSpot, Simpro and SharePoint and standardising how we work, and we want a leader who enjoys that challenge.

Key Responsibilities
