Job summary

Qscan Group is seeking a General Manager, Medical Services to join our Senior Leadership Team and lead the doctor workforce strategy across our multi-site network in Australia.

You will translate strategic priorities into practical workforce solutions, oversee recruitment, remuneration, rostering and governance, and partner with the CMO and executive team to boost service delivery and financial performance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading medical workforce functions or complex doctor workforce arrangements.
• Strong commercial and financial capability including cost management, forecasting and performance analysis.
• Understanding of doctor remuneration models (RVUs) and their implications.
• Experience with doctor workforce supply and demand planning.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into practical recommendations.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation and influencing skills with medical professionals and executives.
• Proven leadership capability and experience driving change and operational improvement.
• Experience in medical imaging, radiology or similar healthcare environment advantageous.
• Tertiary qualification in clinical healthcare discipline is desirable.

Are you a commercially minded healthcare leader who knows how to build strong relationships with medical professionals while delivering exceptional operational and business outcomes?

Qscan Group is seeking an accomplished General Manager, Medical Services to join our Senior Leadership Team and lead the strategy, performance and effectiveness of our doctor workforce across the Group.

Working closely with the Chief Medical Officer and executive leadership team, you will translate strategic priorities into practical workforce solutions, bringing together commercial insight, workforce planning, operational execution and strong stakeholder relationships.

About the role

You will provide strategic and operational leadership across the doctor workforce lifecycle, including recruitment, retention, remuneration, contractual arrangements, workforce planning and rostering. Using strong commercial insight and data-driven decision-making, you will ensure our workforce is aligned with business priorities and positioned to meet current and future service demand.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the Group’s doctor workforce strategy, aligned with business growth and service demand.
• Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, retention, rostering and internal overflow across our multi-site network.
• Drive commercial performance through workforce cost management, remuneration analysis, forecasting and productivity improvement.
• Lead the evaluation and governance of doctor remuneration models and contractual arrangements.
• Translate workforce and financial data into actionable insights to inform executive decision-making.
• Build trusted relationships with doctors, advocating for workforce needs while maintaining alignment with commercial objectives.
• Partner with the CMO, Operations, Finance and other senior leaders to improve workforce effectiveness and operational performance.
• Lead a high-performing team, strengthening accountability, governance and continuous improvement.

About you

You are a strategic healthcare leader who combines commercial acumen with strong stakeholder management and the ability to deliver outcomes in a complex, multi-site environment.

You will bring:

• Demonstrated experience leading medical workforce functions or complex doctor workforce arrangements.
• Strong commercial and financial capability, including workforce cost management, forecasting and performance analysis.
• Strong understanding of doctor remuneration and contractual models, including activity‑based approaches such as relative value units (RVUs), and their operational and financial implications.
• Experience with doctor workforce supply and demand planning.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into practical recommendations.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage medical professionals and executive stakeholders.
• Proven leadership capability and experience driving change, operational improvement and team performance.
• Experience in medical imaging, radiology or a similar healthcare environment will be highly regarded.
• A tertiary qualification in a clinical healthcare discipline is desirable but not essential.
