Job summary

NCS Australia is seeking a Google Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build and maintain infrastructure as code and applications on Google Cloud. You will work hands-on with Cloud Run, GKE, Compute Engine, and Terraform, delivering secure foundations, landing zones and migrations.

The role emphasizes DevOps principles, platform delivery, and developer enablement. You’ll collaborate with diverse stakeholders, develop automation, and continuously improve cloud solutions in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on Google Cloud experience in an enterprise setting.
• Experience implementing secure Google Cloud solutions and IaC delivery.
• Government project experience is advantageous.
• Proficiency in scripting with Python or Bash.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and platform deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable GCP solutions (Cloud Run, GKE, Compute Engine).
• Build and manage enterprise-grade IaC with Terraform using GitOps practices.
• Architect secure foundations and landing zones for cloud workloads and migrations.
• Implement and optimise end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for reliable delivery.
• Develop automation scripts in Python or Bash to improve platform ops.
• Design secure cloud networks (VPCs, subnets, firewalls, DNS) with strong security controls.
• Enable developer productivity via DevOps practices and platform support.
• Act as a technical consultant with stakeholders to deliver high-value outcomes.
• Provide ongoing platform support and continuous improvement in a dynamic cloud landscape.
