Job summary

1QLabs Pty Ltd in Sydney, Australia is seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer to design, provision, and operate our cell-based GCP platform. You will build production-grade Terraform modules, manage GKE clusters, enforce security, governance, and data residency across ventures.

You’ll own disaster recovery, observability, and cost optimization, and collaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable, compliant infrastructure from day one, across multiple regions and ventures as we grow.

Qualifications

• Production Terraform modules and multi-environment deployments
• GCP core services including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud SQL, Firestore, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub
• Production-grade Kubernetes management (node pools, autoscaling, policies)
• CI/CD pipelines with gating, rollback, canary/blue-green
• Networking and security controls (VPC, private networking, TLS, KMS)
• Observability (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting) and incident response
• Security, governance, least privilege, audit trails, encryption at rest/in transit

Responsibilities

• Design, provision, and maintain cell-based GCP infrastructure using Terraform
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines across ventures and cells
• Manage GKE clusters and workload identity federation
• Implement observability and incident response runbooks
• Enforce security controls and data residency requirements
• Own disaster recovery and cross-region replication
• Automate drift detection, compliance audits, and cost optimization
