Job summary

Ballina Shire Council invites applications for a Ganger to lead on-site road construction activities on the Far North Coast of New South Wales. The role focuses on supervising a small crew to deliver earthworks, drainage, pavement surfacing and concrete work in a supportive, values-driven workplace.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

We are currently seeking a suitably experienced and enthusiastic individual to join Council's road construction team. Reporting to the supervisor, the position of Ganger provides high level onsite assistance to monitor and supervise a small team of employees to deliver quality road construction activities, including earthworks, pavement surfacing, drainage and concreting.

To be successful you will bring

• Proven experience and ability to perform a range of road construction and maintenance functions, including earthworks, pavement, drainage and concrete work.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and supervise a team.
• Proven experience in the operation of various plant items including basic mechanical knowledge.
• Proven good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Demonstrated good customer service skills with the ability to communicate with the community in a professional and courteous manner.

• A salary range of $65,700 to $75,600 per annum (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills and experience.
