Job summary

Ballina Shire Council on the Far North Coast of New South Wales invites a suitably experienced Ganger to join the road construction team. Reporting to the supervisor, you will supervise a small crew and deliver earthworks, pavement surfacing, drainage and concreting to a high standard on local projects.

The role rewards a strong salary ($65,700 to $75,600 per annum plus 12% super) and flexible arrangements, with ongoing professional development and a supportive, safety‑driven workplace culture

Qualifications

• Experience in road construction and maintenance including earthworks, pavement, drainage and concrete work.
• Ability to supervise and motivate a team.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to communicate with the community in a professional and courteous manner.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a small team to deliver road construction activities.
• Monitor earthworks, pavement surfacing, drainage and concreting on site.
• Operate various plant items with basic mechanical knowledge.
• Provide on-site assistance and guidance to ensure quality work.
