Job summary

4 Pines Brewing Company in Sydney’s Northern Beaches is seeking a driven Functions & Events Manager to lead our venue's events portfolio. The role focuses on growing revenue, delivering memorable guest experiences and partnering with culinary teams for compelling function menus.

You'll oversee local venues including the Brewpub, Bonsai by 4 Pines, and Truck Bar, with remote support for Torquay. A strong commercial mindset and event software experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' experience in a Functions, Events or Hospitality Management role.
• Proven ability to grow venue revenue and achieve commercial targets.
• Strong budgeting, cost and financial performance understanding.
• Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
• Customer-first mindset with sound commercial decision-making.
• Experience using function or event management software.

Responsibilities

• Own and grow the venue's functions and events revenue, delivering year-on-year sales growth.
• Drive new business through proactive sales, networking, client relationship management and repeat business opportunities.
• Manage the end-to-end functions journey, from enquiry and quotation through to execution and post-event follow-up.
• Be accountable for achieving revenue and profitability targets while operating within agreed budgets.
• Monitor and report on key commercial metrics, including revenue, conversion rates, average spend, booking platform performance and event profitability.
• Identify opportunities to maximise revenue through premium offerings, menu upgrades, beverage packages and upselling initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with Venue Managers to support overall site financial performance and contribute to achieving venue sales and profit targets.
• Lead the planning and execution of high-quality functions and events that consistently deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Partner with Front of House, Kitchen and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of every event.
• Work closely with the Executive Chef to develop commercially successful function menus that balance customer expectations with profitability.
• Build strong relationships with corporate clients, local businesses and community groups to increase venue awareness and generate new revenue opportunities.
• Maintain high standards of compliance, safety and operational excellence across all events.

The Role

We're looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Functions & Events Manager to join our team in a full-time role, based on Sydney's Northern Beaches. You'll oversee functions and events locally at 4 Pines Brewpub, Bonsai by 4 Pines and 4 Pines Truck Bar, while remotely supporting functions and events for 4 Pines Torquay, with no interstate travel required.

This role is accountable for driving the financial success of the venue's functions and events business by growing revenue, maximising profitability and delivering exceptional guest experiences. You'll take ownership of the events pipeline, convert new business opportunities, optimise function performance and work closely with the venue Leadership Team to consistently deliver operational excellence. This role has scope to manage additional venues in the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
