Wood is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to join our Perth, Western Australia team, supporting FEED through EPCM delivery for oil & gas projects. You will develop and implement functional safety deliverables, guide design teams, conduct risk assessments and coordinate safety studies across brownfields assets onshore and offshore.

This role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, site visits, and adherence to international and Australian standards, with a focus on safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Chemical, Electrical, Instrument or Mechanical Engineering or technical diploma with relevant experience.
• Functional Safety Certification required (CFSP/CFSE, ISA84 SIS Expert or TUV).
• 3+ years in engineering design with 2+ years in functional safety roles on brownfields oil & gas projects.

Responsabilités

• Develop automation engineering efforts for functional safety and lifecycle requirements.
• Provide technical guidance across FEED to EPCM delivery and safety studies.
• Support equipment, instrumentation and SIS modifications based on FS analysis.
• Lead Functional Safety assessments, audits, and risk-based decision making.
