Job summary

Woodchem Pty Ltd is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to establish and lead process safety capability across the Woodchem Group, with a focus on supporting the Oberon site, a Major Hazard Facility. The role will drive risk management, regulatory compliance and safe growth across a diverse manufacturing business.

You will develop and embed process safety systems, work with project teams and operations to strengthen risk practices, and lead major hazard analyses to support capital and operational

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Chemical Engineering and IChemE membership.
• Chartered Engineer status is preferred or actively pursued.
• Experience managing major hazards and MHF regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a Group-wide Process Safety Management framework.
• Lead process hazard studies (HAZID, HAZOP, Bowtie, LOPA).
• Provide specialist process safety support to Oberon Major Hazard Facility.
• Ensure compliance with Australian MHF regulations and dangerous goods legislation.
• Conduct incident investigations and root-cause analysis for safety events.
• Input into project plant design, modifications and change management.
• Develop and monitor process safety KPIs and reporting systems.
• Support emergency preparedness and major incident risk management.
• Coach engineering and operations teams in process safety practices.
