Job summary

A CBD based hotel pub group in Sydney is seeking a passionate hospitality professional to plan and coordinate events, functions, and client bookings. You will oversee the full event cycle from inquiry to reporting, with a team to support growth opportunities.

Responsibilities include generating leads, handling inquiries, coordinating bookings, producing agreements and floor plans, and building client relationships.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in function and event sales/management.
• Outgoing personality with proactive relationship building.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Multitasker with strong time management and admin skills.

• Background in pubs or venues preferred; hospitality/event mgmt qualification advantageous.

A CBD based hotel pub group with five venues is looking for a passionate, motivated, well-presented hospitality professional to plan and co-ordinate a range of events, functions, and customer bookings. Clientele includes the corporate sector, private, local & International promoters & govt. departments.

With the support of a team you will oversee and manage the entire event cycle from inquiry, negotiation and conversion, planning and execution, to reporting and identifying opportunities for further growth.

Responsibilities include:

• Generating leads and contacts and drive a high conversion rate
• Handling inquiries, sales and site inspections
• Co-ordination of reserved area bookings, events and promotions
• Produce booking agreements, run sheets, and floor plans for each event
• Managing and building client database
• The ability to develop and nurture new and existing client business relationships
• Work closely with Venue Managers and Senior Management to ensure smooth running of planned events

Skills & Requirements include:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an function and event sales/ management role
• Outgoing personality with a proactive approach, who can develop relationships, build rapport with various market sectors and jump on the phones to chase business
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Multitasker with excellent time management and administrative skills
• The ability to work to deadlines
• High standards of personal presentation
• A preferred background in pubs or venues
• Tertiary qualifications in Hospitality or Event Management an advantage
