Job summary

Contour Education in Melbourne CBD is hiring full-time tutors for VCE Maths Methods, Specialist Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. You don't need a teaching degree; bring your energy, ambition and a love of your subject to inspire high achievers.

You'll teach small groups of 8–20 students, work from the Contour workbook, and mentor students through VCE. You’ll grow as a communicator while helping learners reach their potential, supported by our Tutor Academy and a full learning ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and a knack for making hard concepts click.
• Knowledge of your subject at first-year university level or above.
• A 99+ ATAR and a 45+ raw study score in your subject (highly desirable, not required).
• Availability for full-time role across a full academic year (0.6–0.9 FTE consideration).
• Energy, empathy, and a desire to help students.

Responsibilities

• Teach small-group classes across Core, Mastery and Extension programs.
• Teach from the Contour workbook; curriculum, homework, practice SACs and exams prepared by the team.
• Mentor students through VCE and share effective study strategies.
• Develop the craft of explanation through the Tutor Academy.
