Job summary

Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen in Melbourne is seeking a Shift Leader to train and lead the crew, deliver exceptional service, and uphold food safety and stock control. You will manage labour, COGS and oversee deliveries while embodying our values on every shift.

The role emphasises hands-on leadership, customer-first service, and ongoing training to advance within the brand.

Qualifications

• Leadership or supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment.
• A track record of providing outstanding customer service.
• Completed or willingness to complete Food Safety Supervisor certificate.
• Completed or willingness to undertake Responsible Service of Alcohol course.

Responsibilities

• Train, lead, coach and inspire crew while maintaining energy on every shift.
• Deliver standout service to customers, ensuring a customer-first mindset.
• Maintain high food safety standards, cash handling, cleaning and stock control.

Your Role Will Include

• Team up with fellow managers to train, lead, coach and inspire your crew while keeping the energy high on every shift
• Champion a "customer-first" mindset by delivering standout service to both new faces and regular guests
• Maintaining high quality food safety, cash handling, cleaning and stock control
• Be a proud ambassador of GYG by making sure all crew members live and breathe our values, policies and procedures
• Communicate clearly and confidently with the restaurant team to keep everyone aligned
• Be hands-on with managing labour and COGS to help drive a successful, profitable store
• Oversee deliveries like a pro, ensuring orders are accurate and match invoices

We appreciate diverse experience, but specifically, we are looking for candidates who have:
