Job summary

Pegasus Leisure Group in Mornington is seeking an experienced Commis Chef to join Steeples, a busy dining venue on the Mornington Peninsula. This full-time role involves hands-on prep to pass, supporting senior chefs, and maintaining strict food safety standards in a fast-paced kitchen.

The position requires Cert III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience, and a willingness to work a rotating roster including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Cert III or IV in Commercial Cookery is required or equivalent experience.
• Food Allergens and Do Food Safely Certificate must be held.
• Experience in a busy pub, bistro or high-volume kitchen is desirable.
• Willingness to work a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prep menu items to high‑quality standards.
• Support senior chefs with prep, plating and service when busy.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene at all times.
• Run your section during service and keep tickets moving.
