Job summary

Port Macquarie Panthers is seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join our busy kitchen. You will assist with food preparation, cooking and presentation across our dining operations, while learning food safety, quality and kitchen organisation.

We’re looking for someone with 2–3 years’ experience in a busy kitchen, a Commercial Cookery Trade Qualification, and strong communication skills. The role involves lifting, standing for long periods and working under pressure in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Commercial Cookery Trade Qualification.
• Hands-on experience in busy kitchen environments preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills required.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in fast-paced settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and presentation across dining operations.
• Support catering for functions and events as needed.
• Manage stock, perform stock takes and record wastage.
• Receive deliveries, check stock and ensure safe storage of products.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to hygiene standards.
