Job summary

The Belmore Hotel in Maitland is seeking a talented Full Time Chef to join our kitchen team. You will work alongside a collaborative crew to prepare high-quality dishes and contribute to a great guest experience in a newly renovated, high-volume venue.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years' experience as a Chef, strong cooking and food safety skills, and the flexibility to work across weekends and busy periods as part of a supportive, team-focused kitchen culture.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Chef with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
• Strong food preparation and cooking skills.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy bistro environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and presentation.
• Willingness to work as part of a broader team.
• Flexible to work across weekends and busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present a range of bistro menu items.
• Prepare ingredients and mise en place for daily service.
• Ensure food is prepared consistently and to a high standard.
• Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Monitor food quality, freshness and presentation.
• Assist with stock rotation, storage and portion control to minimise waste.
• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen and food preparation area.
• Assist with the development of menu items, specials and seasonal offerings.
• Provide friendly and efficient service when interacting with customers.
• Follow all company procedures and food safety requirements.
