Job summary

Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel is seeking an exceptional Front Office Duty Manager to shape guest connections at our new waterfront property. You will oversee reception, guest services, and lobby operations, lead a high-performing team, and act as Manager on Duty when required.

Your role includes handling guest feedback, ensuring efficient check-in/check-out, upselling opportunities, and maintaining brand standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience as Front Office Supervisor, Duty Manager, or similar leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of hotel operations and guest service standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.

Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel is now open, and we are looking for an exceptional Front Office Duty Manager to help shape how guests connect with this exciting destination.

This hotel will transform how visitors experience Mooloolaba. Positioned just 100 metres from its pristine beach, the hotel sits where surf breaks meet the buzzing esplanade. The design will seamlessly blend contemporary with coastal, the perfect backdrop for a beach escape with a side of adventure.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Front Office operations, including reception, guest services, and lobby management.
• Lead, coach, and motivate Front Office team members to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
• Handle guest feedback, complaints, and service recovery effectively and professionally.
• Ensure efficient check-in and check-out processes.
• Monitor room allocations, occupancy levels, and special guest requests.
• Conduct shift briefings and ensure effective communication between departments.
• Support revenue optimisation through upselling and room inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards.
• Assist with staff training, development, and performance management.
• Act as Manager on Duty when required, responding to operational and guest-related matters.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a Front Office Supervisor, Duty Manager, or similar leadership role within a hotel environment.
• Strong knowledge of hotel operations and guest service standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Experience with hotel property management systems (Opera Cloud experience preferred).
• Ability to work a rotating roster, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
• A positive attitude, professional presentation, and a commitment to exceptional guest service.
