Job summary

Chris O’Brien Lifehouse is a leading cancer centre in Australia, seeking a Clinical Receptionist to manage front-line services for patients, families, and visitors. The role focuses on triaging enquiries and ensuring smooth operations at the COBL main reception and entry.

The successful candidate will handle patient billing processes, maintain confidentiality, and provide a high standard of service with professional communication and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities are essential.
• Strong numerical and attention-to-detail skills are required for accurate billing.
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and database software is important.

Responsibilities

• Report and action patient customer service.
• Protect the confidentiality of patient clinical records with appropriate access control.
• Use effective questioning to interpret patient and visitor needs and provide flexible service.
• Determine patient requirements and deliver services at a high standard in a timely manner.
• Promote a collaborative team environment with respect for colleagues.
• Understand hospital billing and receipting procedures and Medicare in- and out-of-pocket accounts.
• Experience with hospital billing systems and health fund contracts is preferred.
• Maintain accurate billing records with strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork skills, including a professional telephone manner.
• Be highly organised with proactive time management, decision making, initiative, and proficiency in office tools.
