Job summary

People2people in Melbourne is seeking a driven Business Development Manager for our freight forwarding client. This hunter role focuses on developing new air and ocean freight opportunities, building long-term relationships and driving revenue growth.

You'll report to a National Sales Manager and leverage AI-powered lead generation, a HubSpot CRM, and a modern sales environment. The role offers a hybrid 3/2 schedule across Melbourne and strong earning potential.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years experience in business development or sales within freight forwarding.
• Experience with international air and ocean freight solutions.
• Proven ability to generate and convert new business opportunities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Prospect, develop and secure new freight forwarding business opportunities
• Build relationships with importers, exporters and supply chain decision-makers
• Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through onboarding
• Prepare customer proposals and commercial solutions
• Maintain a strong sales pipeline within HubSpot CRM
• Collaborate with operations and customer service to deliver outcomes
• Identify opportunities to grow and expand customer relationships
• Achieve and exceed sales targets and KPI expectations
• Stay updated with industry trends and market developments
