Bakers Delight is seeking a Franchise Operations Manager to oversee a portfolio of bakeries across Melbourne's northern and north-western suburbs and regional Victoria. You will partner with franchisees to drive commercial performance, profitability and growth, splitting your time between the office and bakery visits.

Responsibilities

• Own the commercial performance of a portfolio of Bakers Delight bakeries using P&L, sales and data to identify opportunities and drive outcomes.
• Build strong relationships with franchise partners and stakeholders across the network.
• Navigate complex situations, balance priorities and implement practical solutions.
• Lead growth plans, new bakery openings, acquisitions and changeovers with franchisees and internal teams.
• Collaborate with National Support Office to improve franchisee performance, brand and customer experience.
• Balance strategic thinking with hands-on bakery visits to stay connected with the ground reality.

Bakers Delight is looking for a Franchise Operations Manager to take responsibility for a portfolio of bakeries. The territory spans Melbourne’s northern and north-western suburbs, extending north through regional Victoria; working closely with franchise partners to drive commercial performance, profitability and growth.

This is a high-impact retail role with genuine autonomy and flexibility. You’ll split your time between the office and the road, working directly with bakeries and franchise partners to navigate challenges, lift performance and unlock opportunities for growth.

The Role

• Own the commercial performance of a portfolio of Bakers Delight bakeries, building strong relationships with franchise partners and using P&L, sales and operational data to identify opportunities, identify levers and drive outcomes.


• Navigate complex and challenging situations, balancing competing priorities, stakeholder engagement and drive practical solutions.


• Navigate industry, landscape and internal innovation and change management.


• Identify risks and opportunities across the network and initiate action to improve business performance and operating profits


• Work with franchisees and internal stakeholders on growth plans, new bakery openings, acquisitions and changeovers.


• Partner with National Support Office teams to implement initiatives that improve franchisee performance, brand performance and customer experience.


• Balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, spending time in bakeries and understanding what is happening on the ground.

About You

• A commercially minded leader who can influence, solve problems and “get things done” in a fast-paced environment.


• Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence at all levels.


• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including confidence interpreting and managing P&L, sales and performance data.


• A practical, solutions-focused approach, with a proven ability to navigate complex situations, competing priorities and change to deliver positive outcomes.


• Experience in retail, operations, logistics, franchising or another fast-paced, customer-focused environment.


• The ability to build trusted relationships with business owners following national and state strategic direction, whilst also working autonomously.


• A current full Australian driver's licence and comfortable to undertake regular travel between bakery sites across Melbourne’s northern suburbs and north through regional Victoria.
