Job summary

Sharp & Carter is assisting a client in Sydney to hire a Financial Planning Analyst. The role offers broad FP&A exposure with budgets, KPI tracking and management commentary to influence leadership decisions.

Reporting to the FP&A Manager, you will build dashboards, participate in forecasts, and support month-end processes. The position features hybrid work arrangements and a collaborative, purpose-driven culture in a national context.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in a commercial/business analyst role.
• Tertiary qualification in Finance/Accounting/Economics.
• CA/CPA qualified or part-qualified.
• Excellent attention to detail and an inquisitive, analytical mindset.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.

Responsibilities

• Partner with internal stakeholders to track budgets, KPIs and milestones.
• Prepare management reporting, presentations and analysis for monthly/quarterly meetings.
• Deliver timely, accurate reporting and dashboards for the team.
• Support rolling forecasts, budgets and strategic plans.
• Monitor investment/project pipeline and build forecast models.
• Assist with month-end journals, reconciliations and related reporting.
• Provide decision support and ad hoc analysis as required.

An exciting opportunity has opened for a Financial Planning Analyst to join the Finance team, reporting to a FP&A Manager. This is a great next step for a commercially minded analyst who wants broad FP&A exposure within an organisation that has real, tangible impact.

About the Role:

Reporting into the FP&A Manager, the key responsibilities include:

• Partnering with internal stakeholders to track budgets, KPIs and milestones, and distilling feedback into clear management commentary
• Preparing management reporting, presentations and analysis to support senior team members and leadership in monthly and quarterly meetings
• Delivering timely, accurate reporting and dashboards, and contributing to annual reporting processes
• Supporting rolling forecasts, budgets and strategic plans
• Monitoring an investment/project pipeline and building ad hoc financial and forecast models
• Assisting with month-end journals, reconciliations and related financial reporting
• Providing decision support and ad hoc analysis as required

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

• 2+ years' experience in a commercial/business analyst role
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance/Accounting, Economics or a related discipline
• CA/CPA qualified or part-qualified
• Excellent attention to detail and an inquisitive, analytical mindset
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach
