Morgan McKinley in Sydney is seeking an experienced FP&A Manager to lead budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis across a fast-growing fintech business.

You will partner with senior stakeholders, translate financial data into clear insights and help shape strategic decisions while developing robust financial models and reporting processes.

Qualifications

  • CA/CPA qualification or equivalent required or recognised.
  • Experience in FP&A, commercial finance or financial analysis.
  • Experience in technology/fintech/high-growth environment is advantageous.
  • Strong financial modelling and forecasting skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear commercial insights.
  • Proactive, commercially minded with attention to detail and prioritisation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Prepare monthly management reporting and performance analysis.
  • Analyse actual performance against budget and forecast.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts.
  • Provide financial insights and commentary to senior stakeholders.
  • Partner with key business areas to understand performance and drivers.
  • Support business planning and longer-term forecasting.
  • Prepare financial analysis and business cases to support investments and strategic decisions.
  • Develop and monitor key financial and operational metrics.
  • Identify trends, risks and opportunities and communicate them to management.
  • Improve existing reporting, forecasting and FP&A processes.
  • Support financial modelling for new initiatives and strategic projects.
  • Assist with ad hoc commercial analysis and strategic initiatives.

Our client is a growing and innovative fintech business with a strong presence in the Australian market.

The organisation operates within a technology-led environment and is focused on delivering innovative solutions to customers across a rapidly evolving sector. With continued growth and investment across the business, they are looking to strengthen their finance function with the appointment of an experienced FP&A Manager.

The opportunity

The FP&A Manager will play an important role in supporting financial planning, performance analysis and commercial decision‑making across the organisation.

This is a broad FP&A position suited to someone who enjoys working closely with stakeholders, understanding business drivers and translating financial data into meaningful insights.

The role will have exposure to senior management and provide an opportunity to contribute to the continued development of the finance function.

About you

We are seeking an experienced FP&A professional with strong analytical and commercial capabilities.

You will ideally have:
  • CA/CPA qualification or equivalent
  • Experience in FP&A, commercial finance or financial analysis
  • Experience within a technology, fintech or high‑growth business environment is advantageous
  • Strong financial modelling and forecasting skills
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
  • The ability to translate complex financial information into clear commercial insights
  • A proactive and commercially minded approach
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities

Experience with financial systems, reporting tools, data visualisation or process improvement would be advantageous.
