Job summary

Kinship Care Inc in Queensland seeks a Case Officer to deliver professional casework coordinating foster and kinship carer support and advocacy, ensuring carers receive timely and fair processes within Child Safety.

This office-based role may require short periods of travel; the successful candidate will work with the Leadership Team, prepare written responses, engage in training across Queensland, and contribute to policy development and program delivery.

Qualifications

• Outline your tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in human services.
• Provide an outline of your framework for practice to support and advocate for Foster and Kinship Carers.
• Provide knowledge and experience of, or an ability to acquire knowledge of the Child Protection Act 1999 and associated regulations.
• Articulate knowledge and experience of case management, assessment and report writing.
• Provide knowledge and or experience in working with Foster and Kinship Carers and or other volunteers.
• Provide outline of your experience in the facilitation of training.
• Articulate knowledge and experience of working with teams and your ability to work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional casework response to carers through phone, online, in person and social media platforms as required and or as requested by the Leadership Team.
• Preparation of written material for carers involved in disputes, QCAT reviews or court related matters within the boundaries of legislation and service agreement.
• Assist with the drafting of written responses to departmental papers or submissions.
• Participate in activities undertaken by QFKC (e.g. conference, dinners, EKKA etc).
• Where negotiated, provide relevant approved training to individuals or groups i.e. Carers, Government and non-Government staff.
• Collect data and provide periodic reports to the Chief Executive Officer and Management Committee as requested.
• Assist in the review and development of QFKC policy in regard to services to carers and the organisation.
