Job summary

OzChild in Toowoomba is seeking a motivated Foster Carer Support Worker/Case Worker to improve outcomes for children in the Foster Care program. You will train and assess carers, support new client intake and match client needs with carer capabilities, across multiple portfolios.

The role emphasizes advocacy, complex case management, and the development of carers as volunteers in the Out of Home Care sector, with a commitment to equity and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher qualification in social work or equivalent recognised in Australia.
• Knowledge of child protection legislation and practice in Australia.
• Ability to advocate on behalf of children and young people in care.

Responsibilities

• Support and develop carers in the Foster Care program to provide safe and nurturing homes.
• Train, assess, develop and retain carers to meet client needs.
• Assist with intake of new clients, matching client needs and carer capability across portfolios.
