Job summary

Respect in Mareeba Gardens is seeking casual Food Services, Laundry and Cleaning Assistants to maintain a safe, hygienic, home-like environment for residents in a residential aged care setting. You will support cleaning, food service and laundry tasks across various shifts, including weekends, contributing to a caring team atmosphere.

• NDIS worker screen and Induction check
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

• Maintain cleanliness of lounges, dining rooms, corridors and staff areas

About The Role

As a Food Services/Laundry/ Cleaning Assistant, you’ll play an important role in maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. Working within a residential aged care setting, you’ll be responsible for cleaning resident rooms, shared areas, and facilities while upholding high standards of hygiene and infection control. You will also learn all aspects of our Service area including Food service delivery and laundry functions. No two days are the same in this role!

We have casual roles available and require reliable team members who is flexible to work across a variety of shifts, including weekends where required. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys contributing to a positive, home-like environment.

No two days are the same! As a Cleaning Services Assistant, you will:

• Clean and sanitise resident rooms, bathrooms, and shared living areas in line with infection control standards
• Maintain cleanliness of common areas including lounges, dining rooms, corridors, and staff areas
• Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment according to workplace procedures
• Dispose of waste and manage linen in accordance with hygiene and safety guidelines
• Follow cleaning schedules and workplace procedures to maintain consistent, high-quality standards

• Relevant Experience
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in residential aged care. (desirable)
