Job summary

Respect Group in Mareeba Gardens is seeking a casual Cleaning Services Assistant to help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, staff and visitors in a residential aged care setting.

You will learn all aspects of the service area including food service delivery and laundry, with shifts across weekends as required. A reliable, team-focused person with good communication will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Must be reliable, punctual and able to follow procedures.
• Experience or willingness to learn infection control and hygiene standards.
• NDIS worker screen and induction check (or ability to acquire) is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise resident rooms, bathrooms and shared living areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of lounges, dining rooms, corridors and staff areas.
• Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment per procedures.
• Dispose of waste and manage linen following hygiene guidelines.

About the Role:

As a FoodServices/Laundry/ Cleaning Assistant, you’ll play an important role in maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. Working within a residential aged care setting, you’ll be responsible for cleaning resident rooms, shared areas, and facilities while upholding high standards of hygiene and infection control. You will also learn all aspects of our Service area including Food service delivery and laundry functions. No two days are the same in this role!

We have casual roles available and require reliable team members who is flexible to work across a variety of shifts, including weekends where required. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys contributing to a positive, home-like environment.

• Clean and sanitise resident rooms, bathrooms, and shared living areas in line with infection control standards
• Maintain cleanliness of common areas including lounges, dining rooms, corridors, and staff areas

Requirements

• NDIS worker screen and Induction check (or ability to acquire).
• Relevant Experience
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in residential aged care. (desirable)
• To be considered for employment with Respect, each candidate must satisfy the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
