Job summary

Estia Health in Australia seeks a friendly Kitchen Hand to support daily meal preparation for residents in Victor Harbor. You will prep food and drinks, keep the kitchen clean, and contribute to a positive dining experience.

You’ll work with our team to create meals that cater to individual residents, keep records for the Food Safety Program, and stay on your feet during shifts. A genuine desire to help others, kitchen experience, and a Basic Food Handling Course are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen work, preferably in aged care.
• Good time management and planning skills.
• Completion of the Basic Food Handling Course.

Responsibilities

• Prepping food and drink.
• Cleaning (including dishes).
• Changing up the menu with residents and team to cater to individuals.
• Keeping records as part of the Food Safety Program.
• Staying active on shifts.

About the Role

You’ll wake up each morning wanting to see people enjoy food as much as you do.

Here’s what a typical day involves:

• Prepping food and drink
• Cleaning (including dishes) – you bring a sparkle to the place in more ways than one
• Changing up the menu. You’ll work with our team and residents to create exciting meals that cater to every individual
• Keeping records as part of our Food Safety Program
• Being active and on your feet for most of your shift

You’ll be a real team player who has:

• A real desire to make a difference in people’s lives
• Experience in kitchen work (aged care is a bonus)
• Great time management and planning skills
• Completed the Basic Food Handling Course
