Job summary

Southern Cross Care (SA, NT & VIC) Inc. is looking for a Food Service Assistant to join our Adelaide team. The role supports high-quality catering for residents, assisting with food prep, meal service and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

You will help deliver meals that meet residents’ dietary needs in a welcoming setting, working as part of a supportive team. This permanent part-time position offers Bee Well benefits and salary packaging.

Qualifications

• Experience in food handling or kitchen roles.
• Clear English communication, especially with older people.
• Strong time management and ability to work independently.
• Basic understanding of supporting residents living with dementia.

About the role

As a Food Service Assistant, you will support the delivery of high-quality catering services to our residents. Working as part of a supportive team, you will assist with food preparation, meal service, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment while adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.

You play an important role in creating a positive dining experience by helping deliver meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences in a welcoming and comfortable setting.
