Southern Cross Care (SA, NT & VIC) Inc. is hiring a Food Service Assistant to support high-quality catering for residents. You will assist with meal preparation, service, and keeping the kitchen clean and compliant with hygiene standards.

You will help deliver meals that meet residents’ dietary needs in a welcoming setting, working as part of a supportive team and following our care values of Service, Courage and Compassion. Previous kitchen experience is preferred.

Qualificações

• Experience in food handling or kitchen roles.
• Good English communication, especially with older residents.
• Strong time management and ability to work independently.
• Basic understanding of dementia care needs.
• Respectful, team-oriented approach aligned with values.

• Week 1; Wednesday - 7.00am to 2.30pm
• Week 2; Wednesday and Monday - 7.00am to 2.30pm; Friday - 2.30pm to 7.30pm

About the role

As a Food Service Assistant, you will support the delivery of high-quality catering services to our residents. Working as part of a supportive team, you will assist with food preparation, meal service, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment while adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.

You play an important role in creating a positive dining experience by helping deliver meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences in a welcoming and comfortable setting.

• Previous experience in food handling or in kitchen roles
