Job summary

Southern Cross Care (SA, NT & VIC) Inc. is seeking a Food Service Assistant on a casual basis to support high-quality catering for residents.

The role involves assisting with food preparation, meal service, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen in line with food safety standards. You will contribute to creating a positive dining experience by accommodating residents’ dietary needs and preferences in a welcoming setting, while working as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food handling or in kitchen roles.
• Clear communication skills in English, especially when interacting with older people.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
• A basic understanding of how to support residents living with dementia.
• A respectful, team-oriented approach aligned with our values of Service, Courage and Compassion.
