The Salvation Army Australia is seeking a part-time Community Engagement Worker for the West Gladstone area, offering 20 hours per week. Reporting to the Community Services Manager, the role focuses on delivering community programs, building partnerships and guiding referrals to local services.

You will coordinate volunteers, promote services, and monitor outcomes and compliance to ensure safe, effective delivery within a faith-based charity environment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Community Services or Social Work, or relevant experience.
• Experience in community engagement for a religious or not-for-profit organisation.
• Experience developing and running community-based activities.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work with community partners and community members.
• Proficient with computers and MS Office; willingness to learn new systems.
• Current Qld Blue Card is required.
• National police check is required.
• Current Qld Drivers licence.

Responsabilités

• Deliver engaging community programs and activities that respond to local needs and support positive outcomes for individuals and families.
• Build strong relationships with community partners, schools, businesses, service providers and Salvation Army programs to strengthen referral pathways and community impact.
• Provide a welcoming point of connection, offering support, guidance and referrals to appropriate services and community resources.
• Coordinate and support volunteers, ensuring effective engagement, training and compliance across community activities.
• Represent The Salvation Army within the local community, promoting services, partnerships, events and fundraising initiatives.
• Monitor program outcomes, reporting, budgets and compliance requirements to ensure effective, safe and sustainable service delivery.
