The Salvation Army Beacon Homelessness Support Service in Australia is seeking a part-time Support Worker for 30.4 hours per week on a fixed-term contract until 22 July 2027. You will be the first point of contact, answering phones, gathering intake data, and guiding residents through accommodation options in a safe, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities include front-of-house tasks, data entry, and supporting daily and after-hours operations while maintaining clear communication with staff.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Community Services (minimum requirement).
• Experience in homelessness or human services is desirable.
• Ability to respond calmly and professionally to distress and challenging situations.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the first point of contact for residents, visitors and callers.
• Gather intake information and ensure accurate data entry.
• Provide information about accommodation and support options to the public.
• Greet residents and manage mail collection.
• Support after-hours operations and basic admin tasks.
• Promote safety and respectful conduct onsite.
