Job summary

Thriving Ability Support is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our growing team across North Brisbane and Moreton Bay. We are committed to meaningful, person-centered support that promotes independence and community participation.

The ideal candidate will have prior disability support experience, the ability to respond to behavioral and emotional challenges, and the reliability to work collaboratively with families and health professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience in disability support.
• Ability to respond to behavioral, emotional and communication challenges.
• Strong interpersonal skills and rapport-building with participants and families.

Responsibilities

• Support participants with community access, social inclusion and recreational activities.
• Assist with daily living routines and independent living skill development.
• Encourage participation in sports, physical activities and community programs.
• Provide transport and assistance with appointments and everyday activities.
• Support participants with varying needs, including behavioral, emotional, communication and regulation challenges.
• Work collaboratively with families, allied health professionals and other service providers.
• Follow individual support plans, behavioral strategies and risk management procedures.
• Complete accurate shift notes, incident reports and other required documentation.
