Job summary

Your Choice Supports Pty Ltd is seeking a Direct Support Specialist to provide personalised disability support across SIL, respite, and community access. You will tailor supports to each individual's needs, promote independence, and work collaboratively with a small team in the Brisbane Western Corridor and Logan areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in disability support or similar setting, especially with person-centred plans.
• Ability to work short shifts, evenings, sleepovers and weekends as required.
• Willingness to operate in Brisbane Western Corridor and Logan areas.
• Passion for improving lives of individuals with disabilities and strong communication.
• Current NDIS screening clearance and valid First Aid/CPR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide Empowered and Personalised support tailored to each person’s needs and goals.
• Assist with Daily Living tasks including personal care while supporting independence.
• Collaborate with individuals to develop and implement life-skills strategies.
• Encourage community engagement and meaningful social connections.
• Maintain accurate progress notes and report incidents to the team.
• Follow safety protocols, manage emergencies, and de-escalate challenging behaviours.
