Job summary

Council is seeking two Development Compliance Officers to join our Building/Development Compliance team on a permanent full-time basis, 35 hours per week, near Lane Cove on the lower North Shore. You will provide advice to the public and staff on development, building compliance and unauthorised works, including illegal building works and land use issues, and support the Principal Building Surveyor.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to write correspondence, reports and submissions including documentation for legal matters.
• Tertiary Qualifications in Building Surveying or enrolled or relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice to the public and staff on development, building compliance and unauthorised works.
• Respond to service requests: illegal building works, illegal land users, swimming pool safety.
• Assist the Principal Building Surveyor with Building Information Certificates & Annual Fire Safety Statements.
