Job summary

The City of Marion is seeking an experienced Workshop Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operations of the Council’s mechanical workshop and fleet maintenance function. You will ensure vehicles, plant and equipment are safe, reliable and ready to support essential community services.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating a mechanical workshop, fleet maintenance operation, or heavy vehicle/plant maintenance.
• Strong planning, coordination and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Ability to lead or supervise staff and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise workshop employees.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs, breakdowns and scheduling.
• Monitor fleet availability, maintenance expenditure and asset performance.
• Maintain accurate work orders, service records and asset information.
• Ensure compliance with WHS, NHVR, manufacturer and Council requirements.
• Coordinate external repairers, contractors and warranty work.
• Identify risks and opportunities for continuous improvement.
